**First Post was under Verizon DSL by mistake**
When I came home one day, I noticed signs were up saying Fios was available. I called to order right away and was given an install date 4 business days away. I chose a morning installation (8:30 AM - 12:30) and the technician showed up right on time. It took about 5 minutes to find where the ONT was to be hooked up since I live in an apartment I guess. It was smooth sailing after that. The install took about two and a half hours total. After the router was installed the connection came right up.
My speeds have been as advertised averaging around 15Mbps/2Mbps after performing some tweaks. If the 30Mbps/5Mbps comes down into a manageable price range ($70 - $90 a month for me) or if I win the lottery, I'll probably upgrade.
Fios TV is available, but I chose to keep DirecTV because of the NFL Sunday Ticket. Verizon has the NFL Network in their line up and lets you stream Thursday & Saturday night games, but I need to watch my team. All I get in Dallas is the Cowboys.
