(Price listed is for TV + internet only) This is for FiOS TV, phone, internet new install. Replacing ComCast. The techs arrived on time. I have a homebrew RF / phone / internet distribution panel, which they had no problem to work on. They suggested I install the ONT on this panel in the basement, as the only other location would be too visible from the street. OK.
I have a high-def home theater setup. The techs took one look at it, handed me the STB, and asked if I could install it. They were somewhat intimidated, but I didn't want anyone but myself working on this anyway. Not a problem. All cables except for optical TOS-link are supplied by Verizon. As I'm an engineer, they graciously allowed me to assist with the RF signal measurements. Nice. They also answered all my tech questions.
After about a 20 minute hold for their own tech support (the ONT software needed to be uploaded), everything came on-line up and running. TV quality is fantastic, phone audio is much clearer than before, and internet speeds are as advertised.
The only problem I had was that they forgot to reinstall my OTA (Over The Air) distribution amp and ground the ONT. Verizon service is scheduled to return and ground the ONT (required by Verizon procedure).
