I'm finally no longer waiting4fios as I now have fios. Installation went smoothly. The only issue was that my DSL info didn't pass through to the fios so I had to create a new e-mail account. Verizon said to call tech support in 2 days to fix this. I really don't care about the Verizon e-mail as I never use it, but I see this as becoming a billing nightmare. I fully expect Verizon to screw up my bills, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and I have contacts in the Verizon business office that can resolve issues for me if there are any. I do wish Verizon had a lot more HD as both my televisions are HD, but I'll wait and see what's coming in 2008 as they have stated they intend to have 150 HD channels. Prior to FiOS I had DSL and Optimum Online. DSL was rock solid. Optimum Online was pretty good for a while but then would go to pits at certain times of day (4pm - 10pm). TV service is much better picture quality than what I had Cablevision. With Cablevision I had homeruns to a 4-way splitter and had grainy picture on some (about 3 channels, but they were the ones I watched most). They came out 3x and all 3x said there was nothing they could do because the problem was not from the tap to the house, but somewhere headed back towards the node. Switched to FiOS and now I'm on an 8-way splitter (5 of them in use for TV, 1 for Router, and 2 spare) and so far all my channels are crystal clear.
