Signed up on 9 Apr 08 for the 5/2 service and received install date of 21 Apr 08.
Week prior to installation fiber laid from box to house and minimum disruption to lawn. Only 2 areas less than 3 feet in length needed to be seeded and straw covered.
Installation took 2 hours to complete including phone switch over. Only problem was that account activation due to having to reset password from tech support which took around 20 minutes. Once password was reset, account setup completed. I setup Outlook 2003 for e-mail. Installation tech was going to setup Outlook Express for e-mail. Once account setup complete and connected, change all passwords and set wireless from WEP TO WPA-2.
Did not select MSN, Yahoo, or AOL for broadband experience.
Ran three speed tests over a 4 hour period and results were good. 5.2 MB down and 2.1 MB up.
Made VPN connection to my PC at work and the increase in speed up and down compared to MDM was noticeable. Previous speed tests with MDM was around 3.9 MB down and 400K up.
May up speed to 15/2 later ($10.00 extra per month).

Forgot to mention that ONT was placed in basement. Per installation tech, this is the normal procedure now. Neighbors on both sides have fios also and they have the ONT on the outside. They were installed around 2 months ago.

I was able to upgrade to 10/2 for the same price as my 5/2 using the on-line request. The upgrade was seamless and took less than 5 hours to complete.
