I have the FiOS Triple Freedom bundle with phone, 20/5 internet, and TV with all movie channels, 3 free digital converters and 3 cable cards for my Tivos

All of the problems I experienced with the Tivos has been resolved by Tivo software update. Since then I have seen no pixellation on any of the channels I watch. What a welcome relief!

For about a year I have been waiting for FIOS Digital Voice, a VoIP product for FIOS users to replace the POTS over fiber. The VoIP services are of great value to me so in addition to my Vz phone line I also have Vonage to get those features. I pay an additional $30 a month for those features, which gives me an additional phone line. (This is a 2 person household and we could survive well with only one.) When the contract is up in October 2009 I will drop FIOS phone unless they have rolled out the digital voice product originally slated for 1Q 2009 rollout.

Now there is another option. I have new Google Voice service which can provide the same features as Vonage without the unnecessary second phone line but with all the features I need, and it is free. Unfortunately at this time it isn't possible to port a phone number to Google, and I don't want to part with this number I've had for ages. Once porting is possible I could port my number to Google, keep the Vz POTS phone line and dump Vonage. The bundle with the phone is now only $25 more than without the phone, but when I signed up there wasn't a phone-less bundle available. So Google Voice + Verizon phone is $5 less than Vonage.
