Price listed is for TV, Phone and Internet. Overall, this is a good value for the money. For the $139.00 I get:
TV: 1 multi-room HiDef DVR plus 4 other STBs (one additional hidef, all others standard) and Starz, Showtime, TMC, Encore, etc...more channels than I could ever watch. The Picture Quality is head and shoulders above Comcast. No more having a HiDef movie hang or stutter due to poor network communications. Picture is FAR sharper as well. I can spool my DVR recordings to any other STB in the house (Hi Def recordings can only spool to my other HiDef tv...standard Def goes to any TV). The guide is kind of clunky and doesn't give you the date of the original broadcast like Comcast guide does, but given the far superior PQ, I'll get over it.
Phone: Unlimited Long Distance to CONUS, Canada and Mexico. Call Quality is clear and it comes with all the standard services (CallerID, Call Waiting, etc)
Internet: Since I ordered Extreme HD package, I get 20mb down and 5 up. Speed Tests verify that I consistently get the speed I am paying for (something I could NEVER say with Comcast). Ping times for regional servers are 25ms. I telecommute and I have never lost work time due to FIOS. Comcast, by comparison cost me at least a day a month.
The FIOS installer was very thorough. He didn't care how long it took, just that it was right. He even re-cabled the outlets that I had installed because I had botched the ends on some of the connections. He programmed all five remotes, tested everything and showed me how to use the DVR box before he left.
My only gripe is that they are taking away the free AV software. That type of service reduction amounts to a price increase ($150/year in my case for a 5 PC license from Symantec). I'm sure they've CYA'd themselves in their TOS or I would try to hit them on breach of contract...but only half-heartedly. I wouldn't really quit over it because the service is just too good to go back to Comcast.
