This is a biased review, since I work for Verizon supporting FiOS. But I figured I would post a review of my broadband service, since I've been a member on here for almost 10 years....
I signed up for FiOS as soon as it was available at my address in December of 2005 - I had an inside source, since I am Tier II support for FiOS. I was the first house in the area to get it, and the installer had to spend an extra few hours trying to figure out why there was no light coming into the ONT. He had to get another truck in order to move my fiber drop to another assignment, but the ONT was working within 5 hours. It should have taken less than 2 hours since I pre-wired the location with a plywood backboard and drilled holes for the power and ethernet cables.
I have 50/20 service for 'testing' purposes, but I pay for 30/5.
Get FiOS if you can.
Update November 2012:
My original Tellabs 611 ONT from December of 2005 is still going strong, and my speed is now 75/35....
