When I initially ordered this, they came to the wrong apartment. They got a number wrong. So for a week, I didn't only have no internet, I had no phone service. This was lame.
I had the 30/5 package, in july 06, and was getting 31/9.5 mbps.
The speed never decreased. I used this every day and I never had downtime, or disconnects. I never had speed decreases. I could download 3 tB/mo on muguito and transfer recording session files to work and back(500-700 GB/mo) to my heart's delight and no one cared.
Sometimes I changed to my homemade router and messed something up. I could call them at 2:30 in the morning to reset my IP address, but this required waiting on hold for a half hour. Still, better than typical 9-5 support.
About four or five months ago, I started to get 20/5.. not 31/9.5, or even the 30/5 I had signed up for.
I haven't called verizon yet about it, because even with a GOOD ISP's tech support, you will wait on hold, and be bounced around from person to person, and the extra 1400 KBps hasn't yet proven to be worth the time. I plan on it, and will update this review when it happens.
Whatever qualms I've had with the service, pales in comparison to the pathetic competition.
