    Well its no surprised of the service called FIOS. They said that it was better than cable and they are right! That was the only surprise for me.

    I ordered Verizon FIOS Online which was advertised for $74.95 which was untrue. I selected the 20up/20down package, tv, and phone service not only for the great service, but I wanted to be ready for the TRANSITION. Anyway I ordered the service on Thursday and the tech came on Monday in the time that was promised. (A plus for that. Good customer service is important to me) I let the tech do his job, he even answered questions for me, showed me how everything works and was up and running in 4 hrs. as the customer rep. promised it would take. (Another plus for that)

    One question I asked him was, What was the difference between FIOS and cable? Cable said that their service was really Fiber Optic networking, but the tech said that the cable lines were installed OUTSIDE of your house with all the other power lines with caps. FIOS was connected directly to your home which meant faster service and no caps. I was very impressed with his knowledge. I feel I made the right choice by selecting FIOS over cable, so I don't mind paying the price.

    If you can get FIOS in your area, I highly, highly recommend getting it. It's worth the money you pay for.

    Fios availability

    I'd love to get Fios, but it's not yet available in my area (DC). Hopefully, it will become available just as my Comcast contract expires in April 2009. I hate Comcast.

    As big a company as Verizon, you should be able to get it soon. Check out their website @ www.verizon.com
