Order - Ordered Fios on 1/5/2009 after being a 6+ year customer with Speakeasy. Ordered the 20/5 Business plan w/5 static IP's $99 + $20 a month. Order was simple and quick. Install scheduled for 1/8/2009.
Install - Tech showed up on time for the install. I was amazed at how little this tech actually new about anything. Fortunately I had everything all set up and ready to go for him as far as placement and cat5e runs. I can't even imagine what he would have done had this not been the case. (3 weeks earlier I had a business install done for a client a couple of towns away and the 2 techs sent were much more knowledgeable and capable.) He admitted to me he was a copper guy and recently went through a 2 week "conversion" training to do Fios installs. He did do everything I asked him to do and I "helped" him a bit, which should benefit any future installs he does.
Service - So far the service has been rock solid. Speeds consistently test around 19.5/5.8. No down time as I can tell. I was a bit surprised with the DNS redirection on a business account, but found the documents to change (change the last .12 to .14 on dns servers).
Equipment - (MI424WR rev.d) I have read all the reviews and opinions on the Actiontec router so I'll just post my thoughts. So far it has worked fine. The interface could really use an overhaul. the feature set does seem impressive, but documentation on getting some of it to work is very light. It supports multiple static ip assignments on the wan port but I have yet to get the forwarding of any but the 1st to work (any insight is always appreciated). I have not run into any issues as of yet with the NAT tables.
Support - My initial dealings with support have been mixed. It is clear there is no real "business" support. Trying to get answers to questions regarding the static IP assignment and other business related features resulted in many transfers, holds, and incomplete information. This is probably the biggest issue they have. There really isn't a true business support team.
Overall - So far so good. Other than the fact that the $99/month for business used to come with 1 or 5 IP's, but now is an extra $20 for the 5, this is a good deal and a good decision.
