Well, I was a previous TWC RoadRunner subscriber paying for standard + $10/month for turbo, I was supposed to get 15mbps/768kbps. I never had a problem I can say for the first 12 months but after that every night I wouldn't even get 1mbps download! for 3+ months....then it started happening quite often during peak times also. So I called TWC multiple times and they said they would send some guys out to do a maintenance in the area, but they just kept on pushing the day forward 3 times.
Well, finally FiOS was available in my area and made the switch. I ordered through the website and everything was clear and explained perfectly. Went ahead and ordered the 20/20 with free activation and first month free.
Installation day came and Tech arrived ahead of scheduled time. Installation took few hours. The ONT was installed in a closet since I live in an apartment so it wouldn't be visible anywhere in the house, then the Tech used the existing COAX cable from TWC to wire from the ONT to my desktop.
I got my service around February 12th 2009 and I've been getting full speed no matter when I use it. Also when I'm uploading at full 2.1MB/s I can still play games browse web with no problem.
Right now I'm just waiting for FiOS TV to be available so I can get the triple play or just TV and Internet.
Overall I'm really pleased with the service so If anyone live in a area with FiOS I recommend you switch!

1 edit | Re: what area in Brooklyn are you in? Williamsburg Area, where pretty much FiOS is being done in all buildings. I live by Manhattan Avenue and Lorimer St.
We sell FiOS at my job and Bensonhurst is in development....I believe East Bensonhurst is available and parts of West...other areas should follow this year. | |
