I decided that in my new home I will need a new provider, however my loyalty for my last ISP didnt follow me across the USA.
I chose FIOS since I have been hearing good things on it.
We placed the order before my wedding/honeymoon, for a window of 1-5pm the day we got back.
Everything appeared to go smoothly in my opinion. The tech was very friendly, although confused about the area he was in. We informed him that this was a mixed building of comcast and verizon. Also the building nextdoor that shared wall had a fire of some sorts in the past. He noted that a lot of the cabling was terminated and he had to rerun a few things but the main hardware was not damaged.
He began running cables for us, liberallly used Coax cable to suit our needs. Checked the signals and stated everything was good.
He informed me he needed to install some Verizon specific software to make sure router was up to date firmware wise and to provision the cable boxes.
He seemed very knowledgeable about what was being done. I still coincidently had to wipe my computer anyway after.
Otherwise, speeds were very impressive. 25/8 to D.C. I only ordered 15/5 so I suppose this is that "fluff" or what not. Not complaining I am overly happy.
