From order time to install time, there were no issues. FiOS tech was awesome and super friendly. I did some pre-work like installing power in the closet (Apartment/MDU install) and had surroundings clean for quicker install time. Connect has worked from day one and no issues have arisen--Ever.
I had one issue that I had caused when I upgraded the Actiontec router/wireless to an "N" version. I had to call in to reset the DHCP lease as I had forgotten to release the DHCP prior to removing the first router--Oops. Not VZW's fault!
Speeds are great, especially the upstream side. TWC was the carrier before FiOS came in and they were OK, but the upstream side was horrible.
Overall--I would never change VZW for anyone else. If I ever have to relocate my residence I will have VZW's coverage area as a priority. Hopefully as larger bandwidth carriers become more common the prices will come down.
I don't like recommending companies, but the numbers and reliability really speak for themselves.

UPDATE 5/31/12:
Everything is still working great. I changed the speed to 35/35 and the rest is the same, with the addition of more channels due to the package change.
The price HAS been increasing and I'm going to call and get a better deal, or threaten going elsewhere. The upstream was initially critical when I started with VZW, but it is not at this point and in theory I could change to TWC (YUK!) again.
OVERALL-- I love the service and reliability.
They provide a solid service here in L.A. and I would recommend it hands down--It's the cost that sucks.
