We've had the Verizon FiOS "Triple Play" for a couple of years now, and we're extremely happy with it. We kept waiting for them to announce the availability in our neighborhood after seeing them string the fiber up, and signed up for it as soon as we could.
The installation was a bit involved, and I wound up helping the Tech do some of it, but after it was done, it's been almost flawless. We've had ZERO outages, and just upgrades from 25/5 to 35/35.
The picture quality for the TV service is extremely good. The Standard Definition programming over FiOS is BETTER than what Charter (our previous provider) called "High Definition". We had one problem with the set top box in our bedroom, and they overnighted us a new box, as the local distribution point was out of the HD models. And I just replaced the DVR in the living room with a newer model after the original one that came with the installation died.
I recently rewired the house from the original 35 year-old 'double coax' to all new RG-6QS, and pulled a CAT6 cable to each room while I was at it. Everything terminates in a closet now, and we no longer have random picture artifacting, which was caused by occasional low signal levels to the set top boxes. The old cable install had numerous unterminated dead-ends on too many splitters, and it looked like they used premade lengths of cable, rather than run the amount that was needed. Can't blame Verizon for that, but with all the new cabling, things are even better than they were before.
