It's been two and a half month since I got the service. Current on the 35/35 plan. I have to say I'm loving the super fast upload and download speed that's always constant.
I came from Cox cable 30/3 which was very good in always being up. But I host couple of Source dedicated game servers, and a user forum website. The Team Fortress 2, players were getting lag spike here and there with cable, plus I wasn't able to have many player slots. Also notice on weekends during the afternoon, evening times my speedtest result will drop. It's because of shared bandwidth on copper.
Now with fiber I always get 34-35 down and 34 up all the time, any time of the day and week.
I only have internet service, that way I just use ethernet from the ONT to my Sonicwall router. So far it has only been 2 1/2 month and my service never had a hiccup. Moving from cable to fiber is like night and day experience.
Below is a negative review but not with Fios service
Don't ever go for the free domain if you get a business account! I should have just pay the $12 yearly free with godaddy and don't have to go through the nightmare I dealt with VZ customer service.
I registerd my domain, went in the DNS control panel to point my domain name to my IP (update the A record) but it never worked. I call VZ and some said their stupid engineers have to do it. I say why have this control panel feature where the customers can't do it them self? I even sent them emails and contact them over phone for the period of 6 days and still my dns wasn't pointing to my IP, so my user forum site wasn't working by the name. I call about 12 times through out the week, many of the support people didn't know what to do, transfer me around here and there. Put me on hold and someone else picked up which I have to explain them all over... On the 7th day I was so mad and just register my domain as .net with godaddy (since .com was already taken here with VZ) and after updating the A record with my IP BAM! It took only 1 min and my site was working. Then after 2 weeks they got my domain working which I laugh, now I have a .net and .com But I just ignore the domain register with VZ and won't use it till it expire.
Verizon doesn't mange, host or they are not a DNS provider, they use google or Intuit. Please a avoid registering and domain with them at all cost or you won't have a website working for sometime.
