I scheduled an appointment and a technician came out. I ordered one HD DVR, one STB and one digital receiver. The installer came out and installed the HD DVR and one STB - which he didn't put in the right place and he never ran the COAX or connected the final digital receiver. So now I have to call to set up another call to have them extend the COAX for the second STB and run the extra STB upstairs.
To top it off I have ethernet connection ran from the ONT to the actiontec already and asked the support technician to switch me over. The first one said I have to unplugg my COAX completely and lose my TV and the second technician asked why I wanted to do it and put me on hold for over an hour and 15 minutes.
This is unacceptable and I will be switching my television service over to Direct TV as I've had them in the past and their service was good.
As for internet I have a choice of either them or COX so I have to evaluate my needs and decide whether or not I want to switch.
update: After dealing with two different technicians and being on hold for over two hours I finally talked to a CSR from Salt Lake named Taylor. He was very helpful and sat online with me for 45 minutes switching me over to the ethernet connection. My ationtec kept dropping the connection on the COAX side and the VoD and DVR were slow. After switching to ethernet I switched my router to my OpenBSD atom router and plugged the WAN port of the Actiontec into my gig switch and it picked up an IP from my internal network and got network connectivity. Now my internet is blazing fast, my VoD works like a charm and I'm running my own firewall that is stable and fast.
That being said, my speeds my other TV still needs to be hooked up. But the internet and the STB I do have are working great.
