Tucked a bit out-of-sight in their Consumer Subscriber Agreement »www.unwiredltd.com/consu ··· iber.pdf on page 3 under 'Service' for paragraph IV which states:

"CIR levels for files sharing: 3/3 plan is 250k. 6/6 plan is 500k"

I'm on their 3/6 plan which isn't mentioned so let's assume 250k as the 3 meg up speed is the same. Doesn't seem that bad right? Guess what... that's in BITS PER SEC.

What?! sustained bulk should be 1/12th the burst peak? Yup.

Most torrent clients use KiB/S for the rate limit which is kibibytes per second. In KiB, that's 30.52 KiB/s !!!! »web.forret.com/tools/ban ··· unit=bps

This ISP is draconian and out-dated. Who wants a $150 radio? I'll throw in a free 14.4K hayes compatible modem, too, along with a free dial-up shell service.. you'll need SLIP and KALI to make the most of it, though. I haven't seen ASCII StarWars in years come to think of it,
