This part is modified today. I would appreciate an answer to the question I posted after Peter Roberts' response. This is still hard for me to understand. 3/30
    Thank You

    How Sad!

I am very unhappy watching Phoenix's reports here go down the tube. I origially placed my order on 2/8/00 with Rhythms/Phoenix. On 2/17 I was switch to Northpoint because they could offer me higher speeds. Why one company would have me closer to the CO than another one is still beyond me. My order with Rhythms was cancelled on 2/17. Lo and behold I my outside wiring was dated for 3/17. I come home and find a box in my phone closet marked "accelerated connection" YEAH!

On Monday 3/20 I get a call from Rhythms stating they can do the inside wiring on Tuesday. WHAT??? My account with Rhythms had been cancelled. I call them to se what's going on. My line had been tested and was ready to go but they couldn't give me higher speeds. I call Phoenix who calls Rhythms to cancel again. So Norhtpoint did my outside wiring (actually Ameritech) on 3/17? NO! My line failed their test. What??? Rhythms said I passed.

On Thursday morning someone from Rhythms shows up to do my inside wiring. Again they were sposed to be cancelled. I asked him to verify I had an outside line there. He said I did. I also asked if my line had been tested and was ready to go. Yes it was.

Okay now here comes the problem. Northpoint says my line has failed. They blame it on Ameritech. Rhythms has told me twice now I'm ready to go. I am connected to Northpoint's DSLAM but they can't see me. Now I'm told I must wait until sometime in April while Ameritech resolves the issue.

What is going on here? Why would one company state everything is ready to go while the other one says no? Phoenix has tried to get answers but they are all the same. I've waited since 2/8 now to no avail. I am well past the 45 days and very close to the 60 day mark. I have recommended this to numerous people now. What do I get for this obsurb wait?

Reading all these negative reports is making me very nervous! All I want is my DSL and I'll be happy. I promise:)

    Waited patiently, now impatiently,

    John

PS I emailed the CEO but never got a response.
