I use my Blackberry 7290 for my telephone and Internet service in areas where there is no high-speed Internet. $39.99 gets me unlimited data and 1000 text messages.

I use the AirCard for my laptop mainly for mobile computing. The AirCard allows me to keep in touch with friends and family while I am traveling. I can surf the web, check e-mail, etc. Online music streaming from a site such as »www.di.fm is ok as long as a mid-quality stream is selected. Video streaming is almost out of the question because of speeds.
Prices are a little high for the service and I hope that prices will come down as technology improves/expands and other players enter the market with competing services. Prices for the card are VERY high at $150.00 for just the card but it is a one-time payment.
Contract is long for such a service and would like a 6 month contract instead of 12. Cingular VOICE customers (at least I did) get a discount on package if they bundle DATA with their pre-existing voice service.

| Those prices are crazy! When I am on the road, I use my Nokia 6682 thru Bluetooth and sync cable connection, receiving the same speeds as the Aircard to access internet and email. You are right, those prices need to come down alot. And the one year commitment is probably stopping this card and service for growing into a mainstream item. Its like Cingular has intentionally set the price very high, so no one would buy it. | |

| Cingular We have Cingular, and now for a year and a half, we have had to call just about every month for errors in billing. Overcharging, charging for things never subscribed to. We had to block the internet and text messaging about 6 times, and they still haven't gotten it right. Our bill has always run around 116.00 a month, since we started complaining and asking to get out of our contract, our bill is now over $200.00. We do not know what the extent of the charges are, as we are awaiting the bill in the mail, we are unable to completely access it from the internet. *****POSSIBLE CINGULAR CUSTOMERS*****

We actually had a customer service rep refuse to give us his name because he was so rude and refused to help resolve an issue on our bill, would not give us to a supervisor!!! They should be sued for false advertisement, and fraudulent billing practices!!!!! We have written the ATT Corporate office, Federal Trade Commission, and the Better Business Bureau. If you think you have rights, then stand up against corporate America and let them know you intend to fight!!!! I encourage anyone who is having problems with false billing with the "New ATT" please contact me at passerm@msn.com. as I am looking into a class action suit. | |
