My Company issued me a Cingular wireless Sierra Wireless aircard 875. I currently travel Connecticut, Mass, RI, Vermont, and New Hampshire for work and I need internet access for paperwork, information lookup and e-mail. I have my own personal Sprint aircard 580 that just works and is super reliable here in New England. I was excited to try the Cingular card to compare. I am dissapointed. Sprint is a very stable connection for me, it just works, on the road, in most buildings and a lot of places. There are very few dead spots, and Sprint roam's over to Verizon. The Cingular card mostly starts in 2G mode but will switch to 3G if available. In 2G the card is very sluggish to start loading any internet data. I must also be in an area with quite good coverage for it to work. 3G mode is not available very often. When it is with good signal is does transfur data very well but stalls a lot and just sits and waits. But then it comes back full speed ahead. So the speeds are not very stable. For how much these cards cost per month I would look somewhere else.
