Speed: NorthPoint SDSL 416/208 Rep: Von Francis Contract Date: 2-21-00
It has only been 5 weeks since I have placed my order with Phoenix, however it looks like I am not the only one growing impatient with the lack of accurate information\updates regarding the status of our orders!
This is my third review of Phoenix, and it is sad to see how quickly things have headed downhill!
Quick chronology of events: -Placed order on 21st of Feb. -Reviewed Phoenix on dslreports on 3-6. Very optimistic at this time, just wondering what the status of my order is. -Got an e-mail from Von, letting me know that they are waiting on Ameritech to give them a Firm Order of Commitment. -Waited. -Got a letter from NorthPoint informing me that they are waiting on Ameritech and it should be within 10 days from the date Ameritech tells them. -Waited. -Waited. -Called Phoenix Customer Care on 3-27 to see how the order is going. They told me that there is still no updates, so they called NorthPoint and then called Ameritech and spoke with a supervisor. [Ameritech] said that the request would be prioritized and I will hear from someone soon.
Now I am getting around to writing this review.
I am not too disappointed at this point, I have had past (bad) experiences with Ameritech, so I am giving Phoenix/NorthPoint the benefit of the doubt here. I think that Phoenix could do a bit more than they have in terms of customer updates, however this is a booming business and they may not have the resources to do so just yet. I do like the fact that they added a Customer Care Dept. and this shows that they do intend well.
What worries me is that my neighbor has been waiting much longer than me (read: Review by Citidream on 3-29-00). I really do not feel like I can wait another month+ for this to get done. I am going to give it about a week, then I will become a pest. All I really want is to see progress. If I could call Ameritech myself, then I would. I will be posting another review next week, and I hope to have good news. I am a very fair and patient person and so far Phoenix is still within the 4-6 week timeframe, but time is ticking...
Wish me luck!
