Ebox is a Montreal based ISP which resells Videotron's copper. Except they do it cheaper, with more generous caps and equally good customer service. I've been a subscriber since February 2012 and after five months of service, I can say without a shadow of a doubt it has been the best ISP experience I've had in a decade.

I was lucky enough to snatch a 60mbit subscription before Ebox pulled it off their offered service list while they adapt to their gargantuan growth. In the first few weeks they struggled to provide the full 60mbit at peek hours, but after I notified their CEO (who hangs around the boards and is easily reached), I was told an upgrade had already been ordered and as soon as it hit, it has been smooth sailing ever since.

I've never lost connectivity. I always get full speed, anytime of the day. Once or twice there was an issue with the network, and after posting about it on the Ebox boards, I received a response within the hour with a thorough explanation and a definite ETA for a fix.

Electronic Box employs friendly employees who are bilingual, knowledgeable and available by phone. I've never waited longer than ten minutes on the line, and all email queries are promptly answered within twenty four hours.

There really is nothing negative to say about eBox. The 250GB cap with the 60mbit is more than sufficient and much more generous than what Bell or Videotron offers.

There are certain areas that need to be improved, notably the ability to add usage blocks on the fly. Currently, it can only be added for the next billing period. There are limitations within their systems (which are a little outdated) that prevents purchasing an additional bandwidth block for the current month. This forces the power user to ration their usage, but I only would have required a block once.

Like other resellers, the modem must be purchased, but it is completely worth the hassle.

The bottom line is that eBox is the best option for broadband right now. They're reliable, easy to reach, communicative and provide maximum value for your money.
