I registered the cable 30Mbits / 2Mbits offer the 6th of july.
I received a confirmation of a meeting with videotron technician a week later.
I couldn't be there for the meeting so it went a 2 weeks later.

That is not so bad considering the price I will pay.

But here is what I don't like.
First day I have my cable internet working I had 30Mbits / 2Mbits score in speedtest, but only 2 days later it dropped to 20Mbits / 0.3Mbits. The upload speed is even worse then my last ISP (Bell DSL). I wrote 2 emails and still waiting for the answer it's been like a week for the first email and about 1 day for the second email. I hope they fix it quick. Is there any way I can get money back from bad speed like that. I feel rip off.

I will update on this review.

Update August 2nd:

A tech from ElectronicBox contacted me Tuesday night to check my problem, but I wasn't there so I called yesterday and I made some test with the tech there. I did the test of connecting the cable directly to my computer like I did by myself, and the result were the same. But the tech say close your anti-virus. Witch I did and bang I had like 33Mb/2.1Mb. I was a little confuse by the result. So apparently AV program drain all my speed. I was pleased by the result and the tech said that I could continue testing and if I had other problems to call them back.

After I hung up I hooked up the modem back to my router and did a speed test again. The result 17Mb/0.3Mb. I couldn't understand what was the problem it was a brand new N router E3200. I did my search and I found that QoS witch I used for my VOIP SIP made a lot of problems for everyone. I decided to remove QoS and BANG 32Mb/2.1Mb.
It's a little strange since it worked with my last ISP (Bell DSL) but anyway now I must find a way to have QoS for my VOIP but that is not ElectronicBox problem :P

So I must apologize to Electronic Box and say they have a great service.
Buy with confidence.

P.S. And the tech told me they did answer my email but got an undelivered message error.
That I don't understand but they should check why because my email is a standard yahoo.com account and everyone can send me emails even the spammers

Re: Slow speed

I use a Cisco E3200 and it's working flawlessly. It was with my older ISP.

I have Windows computer running Windows 7 X64bit.

I use the antivirus that comes with Windows7.

Im pretty sure the problem is not on my side since I had 30Mbits/2Mbits the first day and my older ISP worked fine. It was just overprice for what it offered.

I just did a speed test and it's even worse I get 3.5Mbit/0.2Mbit.

Im a little pissed right now

Re: Slow speed

Can you run your speedtest on our server first.

speedtest.electronicbox.net and post the result here.

When you do your test can you do it with your pc directly into the modem.

Will get that fixed for you.

Thanks

slow speed

Could you please do the test without your router connected to the modem and post your results here,
The reason we ask you to do this is because we want to isolate the modem and make sure the reading we get is from the modem and nothing else. Once you have done the test post the results here once again it must be done without router to isolate the modem. If a router is present then the test is not valide and electronic box cannot troubleshoot the issue with there supplier.

Re: slow speed

If you activate QoS, put "Upstream Bandwidth": Manual 3 or 4 Mbps in your router.

Allways put more than you maximum upload. Make some SpeedTest until you get the best value for your router.
