Moved back to RR but with Premium service 8000/500. Very good, noticeably faster.
Update: That was for the first week only. Since then (about a month now) the speeds have been around 4800/478 kbps whereas the first week they were 6100/478. Latency has also increased from avg of 113ms to 1500ms.
RR sent (Charlie) a tech to the house and he could not access RR's speed test web page. He said that the slow speed tests had something to do with our subdivision area Pahoa (Hawaiian Beaches, Big Island) . It's been over a week since Charlie's visit and no improvement or word from RR.
Update: 10/10/08
I sent a top tier tech the log of 9 months of poor speeds. He refunded my Turbo premiums and said they won't start up again until they get Turbo up to acceptable speed. Nice outcome.
Big shout out to my friend Aaron whose support has been most valuable.

| High Speed in Puna I have the old Westell also; should we have gotten a new modem when HawTel took over? Also, is 11/7 or whatever even possible... and how? Will we be able to get it down in Puna (HPP)?
PS - hairyboto - have you heard about that new Philips Bodygroom? Go to: »www.amazon.com/gp/mpd/permalink/···-8394547 for a great laugh! | |
