I ordered the NorthPoint 416 "ADSL" package about a month ago. I have had DSL for the last 18 months at my apartment, but just bought a house and needed to get some new service.
My last experience at my apartment was awful - I used Dspeed, who promptly went out of business and then charged my credit card $1000. Northpoint was apologetic and rolled me over to Flashcom (not Flashcomm/Teliquest, the other, more sinister Flashcom.) I has to fight about 8 weeks to get my connection up and running, and then the next day it promptly went down because they gave my IP address to someone else. Eventually my connnection stayed up most of the time.
This experience with teliquest was much easier. You'll still find a 4-6 week wait to get an install, but the folks at Telequest will keep you informed. If you send them an inquiry, you get a response. If you call, you hold less than 15 minutes, and the person on the other end of the phone actually knows what you are talking about.
At the other Flashcom, you have 45 minute to 3 hour hold times. No one seems to know what you are talking about (and half the time they seem to not know what they are talking about).
My line was up and running in just under five weeks. The vendors - PacBell and Northpoint - were on time and had me completely set up.
Go with Teliquest if you want service and support. Feel free to email me with questions.
