(ratings match consensus)

I don't need to call tech support very often, but when I do, they always look for a better deal. My only complaint is that occasionally when it rains, ill loose connection for a while!

I pay 50/mo and avg. speed test's get me 10/down, 1/up. Per the package I have it is guaranteed 9/down, 1/up!

    Update 1/23/08:

They seem to have fixed the connection issues when it rains, so the connection has been very stable recently. I ordered ATT DSL to compare, and it didn't. While the connection was stable, the speeds were quite slow. Recently my cost went up a bit, and while other areas are getting faster speeds, mine remain the same Still all and all, I have relatively few issues.

    Update 6/10/08

Although the connection has been somewhat stable, they increased my charge by 15/mo without notice. In response, I have lowered the value score. 68.00/mo is more than SL is worth, and is way too much for a somewhat stable connection. I have also canceled my service, and got no attempt for retention from SL. Since Uverse is now offering 10/1.5, at 55/mo they are a much better option.

    Suddenlink

I had Cox/Suddenlink. Worked great when it worked. Hassle getting the tech to come fix the problems. They only had one service guy for our area (Pflugerville). When we had T-Storms the service would go out. I switched to SBC High Speed/ATT Dsl and have never had any trouble. Speeds arent quite as fast but the reliabilty is 100 percent better and so is the support. Recenty went to the UVERSE option and so far have been happy with it. Very cool features. Good luck with Suddenlink. We gave them a chance to throw us a bone not to switch our TV service and they balked. Bye bye Suddenlink. BTW, 4 price hikes in one year/last year.
