I live in the Lake Charles area, which I guess is considered a good market, Cox Cable owned it before they sold it to Suddenlink (How I wish they hadn't), but fortunately they had just built a new headend/office/all your wires go here right before the sale. Not to mention, they had repaired/replaced a huge amount of infrastructure due to Hurricane Rita.
I have to say, I have been impressed with the quality of service I have recieved with Suddenlink.
Now to be honest, I only have basic/expanded (overpriced) cable, and the HSI.
Considering I have not had any major outages or disruption of services I have to admit I have been rather satisfied with my service.
I do know that areas south of me have had issues due to oversold nodes, etc though.
Good Luck with your broadband package, I hope it is as good as the one I have had.
