"It's been great so far... Knock on wood!"
"No Usenet service included. Fastest tier is 10Mb/768k here, & it's expensive. :("
"Seems the service has improved here over the last year. Speeds stay solid all day, & night."

I have used Bellsouth/AT&T since 2001. It was better than cable since DSL speeds where faster, & more reliable than what cable had to offer. When Suddenlink bought this area from Cox, and bumped the speed tiers up, the service still was unreliable (I setup, & fix family, & friends systems who all use cable). Then I noticed that the speeds began to fly along reliably at all times over the last year.
I stayed with AT&T anyway it cost me $6.00 more for 2Mbits less speed than Suddenlinks 8Mb/512k, because they had full Usenet services. When they dumpted the binary Usenet groups, there was no reason for me to stay. I switched to Suddenlink's 8Mb/512k tier, & used the $6.00 savings to subscibe to a 3rd party usenet service that has better binary service than what AT&T ever had.
I purchased my modem from Suddenlink, which was a used Motorola SurfBoard 5120 since it cost $55.00 instead of $80.00 brand new, and it saved me a $10.00 monthly rental charge. All-in-all the service has been good. I just wish they'd offer the 12Mb service here for a beter price than what they charge for it in the areas they currently do.
