Verizon and Suddenlink are the only choices in my area. Verizon said that my line could only support 3 Mbps down and it didn't seem that they were going to upgrade any time soon. Suddenlink pricing was prohibitive until recently. They finally came down to a price that I was comfortable with and I made the switch. I installed my own Motorola SB6121 DOCSIS 3 modem and placed a call to Suddenlink tech support. They took my HFC MAC and had me online in about 2 minutes. We've only had the service for a few weeks, but so far it has been awesome.
