I'm an IT consultant in the Victor Valley and constantly review Internet connectivity options for my clients. By far, Linkline provides the best service over any other available high speed Internet access provider.

I recently upgraded from 756/128 to 1.5m/384 and have a very complex network system behind the DSL modem. I did have some setup problems and expected it. Be it Verizon, Linkline or another DSL provider, there is almost always a setup issue which is usually a Verizon problem and Verizon almost always points the finger to the customer or 3rd party provider.

Linkline's staff always goes the extra mile to determine the issues isolate and rectify the problems regardless of who's at fault. That's something Verizon's support doesn't do even if you can get a hold of a Verizon tech that knows what they're doing.

When my connection goes down, I need support immediately. That's a similar issue with many of my clients. I can talk to a Linkline tech almost immediately or within a couple minutes of placing a call where you're lucky to be on hold for less than 20 minutes with Verizon.

I have dozens of clients using Linkline's DSL service, and haven't had a single complaint over the years that I've associated with them. Competitive prices and excellent customer support convinces me that Linkline is an excellent choice for DSL service. My clients and I are very happy with Linkline, and I highly recommend them.

    UPDATE: 03-03-2007

It is with regret that I will be stopping my DSL services with Linkline on Monday. Verizon FiOS is now available in my area, and it’s a given that I need the bandwidth considering what I do for a living. I’ve already had incredible problems in dealing with Verizon’s customer support, which causes me to miss working with Linkline’s guys.

There is a negative thing I should add concerning Linkline, which I hope someone from Linkline would address. I have had a referral agreement with them for years, which they have neglected to honor. I have referred numerous customers to Linkline, but have not received any recognition for this, let alone credit or compensation as indicated in our agreement.

This is certainly not an indication of poor service to their customers, but an indication of their administration’s shortsightedness in maintaining quality relationships with their strategic partners. I hope this post will bring the proper attention from Linkline’s administration to handle this positively.

    LINKLINE referrals

Hi Mr. Harley, I have spoke to you directly about this issue. While I understand that you referred business to LINKLINE and we do offer a finders fee for doing so, it is next to impossible to know you have referred without interaction with you at the time of the referral. For finders fees a customer must be in good standing and paying their account for the first 45 days as well.

We definitely hate to lose you to FIOS but understand the need for GREAT BANDWIDTH. I am hopeful to see you come back as a customer in the near future and to personally see to it that your referal fees are posted to your account as a credit.

    Sincerely,

    Re: LINKLINE referrals

    Mike;

The argument you had presented is the same argument that I have heard for years. I have been given promises that such issues would be resolved, yet the issues still persist. In my opinion, one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing in your company regarding your referral program.

I have always interacted with Linkline's staff on every ADSL customer that I referred, because I always make a 3-way call between your staff and the customer to finalize the ADSL order. I also do my own preliminary check to make sure the client is capable of receiving ADSL service, which cuts down the time for your staff to process the order. Therefore, your staff certainly knows that the client is a referral from me and it is certainly a benefit to Linkline in having
    me as a referral partner.

I doubt if I've had more than three client who had changed their ADSL services from Linkline to another provider over the many years of my referrals to Linkline. All of those who had changed services did so after a substantial longevity with Linkline (at least one year), and only one of them changed services due to issues they had with Linkline's service. So the 45 day waiting period is a mute point.

Linkline had received referrals from me because of exceptional service at a reasonable price, and not because I expected to receive huge referral revenue. The problem has always been tracking the referrals. I admit that I do not keep good records of my Linkline referrals, because the small referral fee that I am supposed to receive is not worth my time to track. There is still a matter of principal involved.

In my conservative estimate, I have referred dozens of ADSL customers to Linkline over many years. I have never received a single check from Linkline for my referrals. I did receive credit of a few months for my own ADSL service, but that was a couple years ago. I have now stopped referring customers to Linkline, because it is no longer worth my time to bring benefit your company without any reciprocation or even an acknowledgment. If you or someone in Linkline is willing to rectify this issue, then I am willing to listen and I will pull this comment when I find Linkline's resolution to be satisfactory.

By the way... You didn't call me back as you had promised.
