My experience with BA has been great! I ordered their 640/90 service at $49.95 per month with no contract and a 30 day money-back guarantee. The external Westell DMT "modem" was $99 with no other installation fee. I never saw anyone at my house regarding the phone lines. BA just started service in Charleston, West Virginia in February. I put in my order over the phone on March 6th. I was given an install date of March 21st. I received modem/filter kit on March 10th, three business days after I placed order just as sales rep had promised. The hardware and software setup went smooth. The account setup was easy. The line was working when they said it would be. I was amazed after seeing all the posted horror stories. They provide a dynamic IP address and use PPPoE. The speed averages about 510Kbs down and 85-90Kbs up. My ping times are usually in the 60's. I live about 4900 feet from CO according to dslreports. I have not had to use BA's technical support yet. I did request an additional email address using BA's online form. I never got a confirmation that it had been setup. I sent an email to support asking if it had been setup or not and got a generic reply back stating they couldn't help me through email, I had to call. I just setup the new email account with password I chose in my email program and sure enough it had already been setup. The service has been down only once. That was on April 6th for a few hours. My brother, who lives about 4 miles from me and has the same service reported his was out at same time. He uses a different CO from mine. I know one other person in area who got service the same time I did and he along with my brother had the same great experience I have had. I have had Internet service since the days of 9600bps and at least a half-dozen different providers and so far this rates one of the best.
