I already have 2 sprint cellphones on my account, so a couple of weeks ago I visited the sprint store and checked in on their Mobile EVDO service. Found out that I could buy the USB modem (U720) for pretty cheap with a huge rebate... and could remove the Powervision 9.95 charge from my cell bill, and add the 30$ per month Broadband charge to my existing account. So I end up paying only 20$ more for Unlimited access.... can use my Sanyo mm-7500 phone as a modem, or the U720 usb modem, either one... so I was happy and very excited.... with the exception of the gaping lack of flying cars they promised me as a kid in the 60s, .... but thanks to Sprint EVDO rev A mobile service, I am finally beginning to feel like I'm living in the future. Cool.

As I have stated in my review... EVDO broadband will change everything... from how we do business. to how we monitor our homes while away at the vacation home... and vice versa...and etcetera.... and Finally... a REAL solution for those who live in Rural America. Welcome to the 21st century mom!!... FINALLY. My mom in northern indiana, only 60 miles from Chicago and 20 from South Bend has had only dialup or Satellite as a connection option since the dawn of time. Well now we are finally getting her a computer and Sprint EVDO modem... she'll finally be able to be a part of this communication evolution. so all in all, I am very happy with what Sprint is doing. Surprising even to me, because I have had a long history of dissatisfaction with them as a local telco and long distance provider. Lets hope they continue to do their Mobile Broadband deployment the right way.

    Sprint EVDO plan

That's what they told me it would be at the Sprint store when I visited to inqire about the service in the first place... I was suspicious and asked again like, for real? and they promised me it was true. ...and after the service was added, i logged into my account page and verified... yep! unlimited at 30$ per month. Maybe it's my account... here's what I have... 2 phones, family and friends package, free nights and weekends and any calls to any sprint or nextel cell phone... 1500 minutes for 89 per month. I have my account under my business name, although it is set up as a 'non' business account. Perhaps my particular combination qualified me for this rate. I didn't find the 30$ plan listed on sprint's website either. Maybe it's an in-store or regional thing. If I make it back over to the store, I'll be sure to ask about the details and share them here.

    Re: Sprint EVDO plan

I've got five phones plus EVDO. My EVDO still costs me $59.95 per month. WTF?
