I switched to SprintPCS after being with Verizon Wireless for almost 7 years. Despite Verizon Wireless' ads and commercials claims to the superior network coverage, coverage in my area was full of holes and I was getting calls drops on a regular basis. The last straw was the decision by Verizon Wireless to standardize on a really poorly designed phone UI. Expensive voice and data plans, forced use of BREW and Bluetooth restrictions also contributed. So far I'm loving using Bluetooth to move files between phone and a computer without having to pay to transfer files as was a case with Verizon.
Update 11-07-2007:
I'm disappointed with SMS rates of $0.15/message. I certainly wish that their all-you-can-eat PowerVision data plan for additional $15/month included SMS messaging, if not unlimited SMS then at least 100 messages/month.
In general, SMS messages with all carriers in US cost obscene amounts of money, 15-20 cents per message. To make it worse a user has to pay for incoming messages as well. Why should I pay to receive a message if I didn't ask for or expecting it.
