I needed a mobile broadband service for my laptop, as I work in field services. The 2 main players are Sprint, and Verizon. Verizons service isn't as fast as what Sprint offers around here, so that was the first strike against them. I've also heard a lot of negatives about verizon, and that they have a lot of regulations about what you can/can't do with their service. I knew I would also use my laptop to stream from my slingbox, and sirius + XM satellite radio feeds (both of which were prohibited by verizon).
I decided to order service through Sprint, and recieved a Novatel wireless Express card the next day. Installation took 5 minutes at the most, and I was up and running. Most of the wireless access cards are free with a 1 or 2 year commitment, but I needed a express card for my laptop (Dell e1705) so I had to pay $149 for a express card. I've had the service just over a month now, and I haven't had any problems at all yet. I am very pleased with the service.
Price - $49.99 + taxes for unlimited access.
