I considered Verizon and Sprint, and after doing much research, I decided on Sprint due to the fact that they don't really limit what you can do with your connection, whereas Verizon expects you to use it for only E-Mail, Web Pages and basic browsing.
I chose the unlimited plan for 59.99 and picked the 595U Sierra Air Card.
The first thing I noticed was the speed I receive. My average at home is 1.7Meg Down and 350k up. Best at home is 2.8Meg Down and 900k up. It rarely is ever slower than average, especially since I figured out that a cheap external antenna is well worth it. I picked up an antenna from Radio Shack for 4.97 (It was a close out) and picked up a connector to adapt it to the 595U. It improved signal by about 7-10 dBm.
I like the fact that I can have DSL speeds most of the time that I'm on the road. I'm very pleased with how easy it was to get setup. The Sprint store I went to, asked me to bring in my laptop and actually did the installation and testing right in front of me. They were very professional and new exactly what they were doing. The best part was they gave me everything I needed to change Home Agents so that I could tweak the connection.
Overall I'm very impressed and would recommend it to anyone. If you are considering Satellite, I would take a look at Sprint's coverage Map and if you have coverage, get this instead of the Sat.

| air card my setup is a little difference I have my Novatell S720 full size card plugged in a Dlink Dir450 wireless router with a Wilson Amp. So I extend my coverage with to about 9 or 10 miles from the nearest tower. For me the amp there to make sure I am on esp if you out in the middle of the ocean or Island. | |
