"Internet service just about anywhere I travel. Business can be conducted on the move."
"Coverage area in my state (Illinois) and new 5 GB cap."
"$ 60 a month should buy a LOT more than 5 GB of usage."

Signed up for SMBB in late April 2008 well before the announcement of any caps. I used the service primarily while traveling to keep of top of business. I find the coverage area in the state of Illinois south of Chicago leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the coverage down Interstate 57 is slower than dialup. I strongly considered Verizon service since most of the area's I travel in they seem to have the better broadband coverage. The selling point for me was UNLIMITED usage. When traveling through EVDO coverage area I had no complaints and the service performed as advertised. With several trips planned late this summer I do foresee easily going over the new 5 GB cap they have imposed. I do NOT want to be constantly checking usage to be sure I haven't used the arbitrary number sprint deems as too much. I called to cancel my service mid June 2008 due to their changed TOS finally showing up on my bill. I was greeted with the standard fare about how only a business would ever use that much data in a month and that if I use more than that I must be downloading 24/7. This statement proves the CSR's are idiot's because at EVDO speeds downloading 24/7 would result in hundred's of gigabytes of usage in a month. I rejected their notion and told them I consider myself a light user and could foresee going over 5 GB easily. The first rep tried to play hardball with me telling me I'd actually have to go over 5 GB before I could cancel without incurring ETF. This rep actually hung up the phone on me once I told her I was recording the conversation. I called back and the next rep had far more tact and professionalism which is saying a lot for Sprint these days. To make a long story short I was told that because of the change in terms that I COULD cancel without incurring ETF. So there we have it. It was good for the first couple months I used it but $ 60 is FAR too much $$ for 5 GB. Had they offered a cap higher than the competition I may have reconsidered. For now I'll simply use hotspots in the area's I travel in or if I find I can't live without mobile service I'll go to Verizon for the better coverage.
