What a great surprise DSLi has provided me with! After three months of various ISPs telling me that I could not get DSL service for different reasons, such as distance, DSLi (Northpoint) delivers to me 416/416 service within three weeks of my calling them. Actually, kudos go to DSL Reports for having a posting on them being a new provider in the Miami area.
Tom Martin, my salesman, was extremely helpful and patient with all of my phone calls. However, I will never feel bad about making so many, as I know from my past experiences with Bell South (the worst!) and another provider (CAIS Internet) that tried everything but would not get any cooperation from Bell South in getting me installed, that one must stay on top of the DSL providers and ISPs. Also very helpful were the people who work with Tom: Demitri, Robert, and Madeline. Even though they are closed on Saturdays (and close pretty early during the week - which I wish was not so - especially if I was using them for business), I received help from both Demitri and Robert (tech) in setting everything up this past Saturday.
Northpoint kept the appointment we had made for Sat morning and did all they were supposed to do (nothing extra).
One negative is that it seems to me that they are a fairly small operation, being that I called today for tech help with an e-mail account and did not receive a call back. Anyway, if the speed, reliability and service (after today, could be a little better) stay consistent, I will be a very happy customer.
