    Overpriced for the quality, tech support is no help at all, at best you'll get a precanned message within 24 hours.

    The quality of service can go from spectacular to pure junk about 20 times in the course of a day. I'm currently on my 12th hour of sub dialup speeds.

    Stay away until WiMax matures... it's too early to rely on this, especially in a new market.

    If you want a portable service, go with Sprint PCS and get a wireless router for the broadband card.

    p.s. Did I mention that they block ports?

    Watch out for contracts

    These guys have me locked into a contract. Even with terrible service, there's no way out.

    I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

    I strongly urge you to stay away from Clearwire. They are liars and cheats.

    Here's some test results with three bars of service today:

    It's a bit better today... filed a BBB complaint yesterday:

    No Charge

    Re: Watch out for contracts

    Keep pushing. Post your speeds every day. Email the link to Clearwire and fax the info posted on line to your local Clearwire office. Make sure they know that every day you're letting more people know. Also call and email their tech support every day. Demand that a tech come out and fix it. Post their responses on line. If they don't fix it put that in your email. You signed up for a service. Demand it. I got out of the contract for no charge. So can you.

    It's a sad day in America when you're happy to get this:

    No Charge

    @ge.com

    You can get out

    If you're not getting service you CAN get out of the contract. Don't let them rip you off. Here are some ideas. First keep calling the help line. Make them come out and fix it. Heads up: a friend did this, they couldn't fix it BUT later found out that the tech wrote that it was resolved every time. Follow up with and email confirming that it hadn't been fixed. Do this repeatedly. Document every call and email, including every name that you speak to. When the pile gets large enough ask to cancel. If they demand a fee go to the local Better Business Bureau (on line) and put in a complaint with all of the details. Put in all details. Also fax the Clearwire CEO with the same. If all of that doesn't work start an email campaign and copy Clearwire. Send inputs on line. Encourage others to do the same. FYI: they read a lot of these sites. Use your imagination. Here's the thing: as long as it's the truth your risk is the cancellation fee. Clearwire's risk is the cost of the tech visits plus the number of customers cancelling or customers not signing up. They know that.

    Im out no charge

    @ge.com

    Thanks!

    A few days before I saw your inputs I did almost exactly what you described. At every step I made sure that Clearwire saw what I was doing (I called, faxed, or emailed them). I faxed the CEO, BBB, etc. Then I received a voice mail saying they'd let me cancel at no charge. One thing I would add that if people could write in telling how many have decided to cancel or not sign up due to these inputs it would help get the point across.
