    I was able to order just the internet package rather than tv + internet because SBC ADSL is not available to me.

    I ordered U-Verse because it just became available in my area. I couldn't receive DSL or Cable service from anyone. I had been on ISDN (128k/128k) for about 4 years before this and this U-Verse service is awesome. I am a heavy gamer and the pings are about the same as Cable and ADSL, which was a pleasant surprise. I have even pinged better to servers than my friends have.
