Had AT&T DSL and was stuck with Charter cable...which I hated. I was supposed to be on a list to be notified when U-verse was available at my location (1yo apartment complex), but the first I heard of availability was when a tech left a door hanger while installing a neighbor's service...
Called to sign up. Very good experience, except they did not mention till the very end of the call that VOIP service was not available at my location yet. They could not give an estimated time frame. CS rep taking the order actually suggested that I could drop my AT&T land line (after the U-verse install was complete) and use skype or vontage while waiting for them to get their s5*t together. Even told me to ask for number portability to keep my existing number.
Guy showed up exactly on time, but failed to call first as the install order was supposed to instruct. Install was done in less than 2 hours without a hitch. Tech was very professional. Wore little booties the entire time.
DVR went dead after about 48. Service call was set up for the next day, AFTER I GOT HOME FROM WORK. Tech was very prompt again. In and out in about 15 minutes. Can't blame AT&T too much for the hardware dying.
Service is great. Internet speed is exactly as advertised. TV picture is great. The most fantastic thing is that there is *no* delay when changing channels or channel surfing with the P-i-P.
