I ordered U-Verse in McKinney Texas and the installer showed up right on time. The problem was he told me I'd only get a single HD Stream because I was 3500 ft plus away from their equipment. Given this O was dropped into the 19MB Category. Apparently near their equipment the installer is getting 50+ mb at some houses demarcation with 4 HD Streams. In essence, if we went ahead with the install, we can only watch a single HD Channel. If I wanted to record an HD Channel, I could not watch another HD Channel while the DVR was recording. If we were watching an HD Channel we couldn't record another NOR could my kids watch HD channels on another HD TV. They do not provide IP telephony in my location either. The cost to AT&T to upgrade their equipment is about 4-5K. The returns they would see by signing up other residents in or neighborhood would far outweigh the costs. I hear the picture quality is awesome however until AT&T can guarantee me 4 HD Streams, I won't be moving to U-verse anytime soon. Unfortunately I’ve decided to stay with Tim Warner for the time being. We'll make a decision on satellite and faster internet later. Bundling with TW is out of the question as their Internet service drops repeatedly in my home.
