Ordered U300 package with 6/1 internet speed. Everything is through cat 5 wiring from nid to RG then to switch to receivers. Install time was about 4 hours. Installers show up on time and were very helpful. Equipment is a 2-wire RG with 4 cisco receivers. FYI I can get the 18/1.5 package but got the 6/1 because of additional price. I have had the service for about two months now and am very pleased with the service.

| Re: I been told... I love the picture that I now get with uverse. One thing to keep in mind is my phone has never gone down during the hurricane seasons. I can not say the same thing about comcast or sat. service. Most people only need 6/1 dsl or even slower. I have seen higher dsl speeds that did not do any good because the servers at the other end were slow. So for what I need and use I am a happy camper. -- GO NOLES!! | |

| U-Verse Although I like the service now that we have been using it for a month the installation & the first 1 week was pretty frustrating. First, we had to wait 3 weeks to get the service installed and since we had just moved in we had no tv, phone or internet other than tv we could get by using an antenna. 2nd, no one told me, until the installer got there, that you could only watch 4 channels at one time and we have 7 TVs hooked up. Turns out that has only been a minor inconvenience and tends to only come up when someone has turned off a tv without making sure the receiver is also off. 3rd it took a Full day and a half to install. I had already planned on taking 1 day but had to take another for the installer to finish. 4th within 3 days 2 TVs weren't working and 2 other had very poor response, meaning they would freeze up when changing channels or pause during a show. 5th when we scheduled to have have the problems fixed no one showed up and didn't even call. When we finally got someone out there this guys really knew what he was doing, fixed every and even took the time to show us how to work EVERYTHING. After all the problems we had they ended up giving us credits and free movie channels for 6 mo. So all-in-all now that we have all the kinks worked out I really like the service. | |

| Wish I had been told upfront that the service install was 3 weeks instead of the 2 or 3 days I was told by the salesman.
Had to cancel my current internet provider which is not a big deal, but now I am supposed to live with dial-up for 3 weeks? Can't do this due to working from home so it looks like I am going to have to cancel this service and either go back to my old service provider or have a look at Comcast.
The customer service people have been responsive and great to deal with, but 3 weeks to install a service is absurd when you have to disconnect from another one before they'll even schedule the install. | |
