$125 per month about 7 days "Nothing." "The 250 GB cap!" "The 250 GB Internet usage cap makes uVerse practically useless for power users such as myself."

I've been an AT&T customer for Internet and phone for as long as I can remember. I've also been a DirecTV customer as well but I dropped them since for the most part any time it rained, even just a little bit... no TV. They refused to help fix this so I gave them the boot.
Didn't want to go with cable, I have Road Runner here in my city and they are still running on the old Adelphia network and haven't made any plans on upgrading the systems in the area.
Overall, good quality TV. Could use a bit more quality in the HD department but other than that it's fine for me.
Update Had some issues a week after the installation that I got some help resolving from some of the guys here in the AT&T Direct forum.
Update (July 23, 2009) Upgraded myself to the 12 Mbps package. Why? I needed more bandwidth for I have three people (including myself) that are all bandwidth hungry people. The upgrade about three minutes to go through from the time I clicked the button to upgrade to actually seeing the new speed. The RG rebooted and I got the new speeds.
HD quality did improve with Phase-2 roll-out, less noticeable blockiness.
Update (November 10, 2010) Still with uVerse more than a year later. Can't really complain about the service at all. The wireless in the RG has issues that seem to cause computers to no longer be able to connect to the WiFI but I solved that problem with using my own Wireless-N router and turned it into an access point. I still use the RG as the router though. Wish it had UPnP though.
Also got four HD streams on the 32M profile. That means I can record three HD streams on the DVR and watch a fourth HD stream on my basement TV. I only have two TVs so that's good. Just wish you could pause live TV on the STBs just like you can on the DVR but apparently that's coming soon on Phase-4 THDVR.
Wish the service price as cheaper though.
Update (March 15, 2011) So they are implementing caps for Internet usage, specifically 250 GB for uVerse subscribers. I'm leaving and going to TWC, I will NOT be capped.
TWC Signature Home, here I come!
Update (May 9, 2011) I have Time Warner Cable Signature Home service. Beats the shit out of uVerse!
I have 50 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream and not only that but also NO USAGE CAPS!
I left AT&T over the Internet usage caps. I simply do not want to be capped. I may not even reach that cap but it's the principle of it. I don't want to be capped.
Oh, and Time Warner Cable HD picture quality is by far better than uVerse. There's no major macroblocking, no color smearing, and whatnot. I take one look at TWC's HD and I can readily see that uVerse HD is complete garbage according to TWC.
Comments:
 | | ATT is horrible Well we jumped on the Uverse bandwagon after some issues with TWC, they offered us cheaper prices and a DSL connection that would always be 1Mbps. Now they have downgraded use to 768, and its the fastest we can get even though the lawn fridge is literally around the corner. Plus the caps. I refused to be cap. If WOW isp could actually inform us they could provide us with service. We would probably go there. | |
