I just moved from Xtreme 6.0 with AT&T aka (BellSouth). Our VRAD was powered up last July but I could not qualify on the online tool until late Dec. I went with the 10 / 1.5 Max package which was a step up from my previous 6 / 512.
It was quick and easy to migrate, no need to change email addresses, only outage was during the actual install. The install took about 3 hours as the install tech installed a new Cat5e run from the NID to the location of the RG. The I&R tech replaced my existing NID with a brand new NID. I was hoping for the new iNID but it is not ready for roll-out.
My previous install was a self-install and I only had to plug in the ADSL modem and signin, so a 3 hour install with a new NID and Cat5e drop was a big change.
I waited to post my review until it was up for more than 30 days and as of this post I have been up for 42 days straight without a single outage or restart of the gateway.
To expand on my complaint about the caching DNS in the 2Wire. It appears that it is a problem that 2Wire is working on a fix. For now, you have to set the DNS servers in each client as the DNS setting is not available to the end-user of the gateway.
