I switched from the DSL to the U-verse because I went with U-verse for the TV. I had been using analog cable. Since I was going to be forced from analog cable which was going to force me to use set top boxes, I went with the U-verse because they gave me a better deal than Charter offered. I had some initial confusion as to whether I was going to leave the broadband on DSL or go to U-verse. The original installer seemed unsure as to how my existing home network would play with the U-verse so I decided to leave it on DSL. However after being billed for service on the U-verse (the billing issues were easily solved), I got an installer who worked with me to assure that the U-verse and my network played nicely with each other. Since then I have had good luck with the service
