I had an AT&T Salesman knock at my door. He was pushing Uverse TV/phone/internet. I have Dish Network and would not switch even it they gave me Uverse TV. I do have and AT&T land line. I asked about internet only and he said YES for $30 per month and NO CONTRACT. I could get 3 megs download per second or 9 megs for only $15 or $20 more per month. The down side was that I had to disconnect my internet (Earthlink) and wait like two weeks before they could hook me up. I called Earthlink and terminated my 10 year relationship with them. They treated me right for those ten years. They disconnected my service on the 29th of Sept. I called AT&T Uverse and told them I had disconnected my EL service. They said that EL would have to send them a message telling them that they had disconnected me.(?) I waited for another week and called again. I got the same story and we will call you. I am not sure what Earthlink did to AT&T, but AT&T is scared of Earthlink. After almost three weeks without the internet, I called AT&T Uverse and was going to give them a stern "It is MY money, and hook me up!", but they said that my Uverse internet was canceled. I told they that I still wanted the internet if they could hook me up and soon. She said I would have internet the next day. I got hooked up as promised and got the performance I was promised. I am now a happy camper. Stay tuned for further developments as time goes by.
