Decent speed's for another year or so till cable catches them here..
Still over copper and HD picture quality is poor
AT&T still cuts corner's but for me they deliver 55% of the time

Well it's been about 5 months since i have had UVERSE, I subscribe to the U-450 TV with 4 HD TV's, 24/3 Max "Turbo" internet, and also the voice service.

Internet speed's hold steady until someone turns on more than 2 HD TV's. Also picture quality I find is terrible compared to even Charter cable. It pixelates during fast action movies and sport's and freezes constantly. It's ridiculous for them to compress so much and for them being too cheap to run real fiber.

Don't let sale's people misguide you and let them trick you into thinking it's really fiber, because only 10% of UVERSE customers can even get fiber. And even then those customer's are mostly worse off than FTTN users.

Update: 01/22/10 - I have since canceled my TV service and moved to Dish because the picture quality is TERRIBLE. I would not recommend AT&T U-VERSE TV to my worst enemy. The Internet is "OK" but unreliable and the phone service sounds terrible compared to POTS. Neither Tech Support nor the actual technicians have been helpful in fixing the voice issue either but it seem's like it's a common issue.

att uverse hispeed internet service has been really bad

on the uverse "fiber optic" (delivered to house over RJ-11) we lose all connectivity on a regular basis, approx three times per week for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. It comes back eventually, but it's frustrating, because .... you never know when it's going to crap out. This didn't happe with the Pac Bell DSL which became Yahoo/Att DSL, which we used to have .... but then we were "required" by att to upgrade.

It's been a nightmare. ATT cancelled our dsl, without our permission....even though we had been one of the original customers on the block, then they told us that it was no longer available in our area, even though our neighbors still have it... we had to wait a week for modem and service to be upgraded. I fought with them about this issue for many hours on the phone, but I finally gave up because I just wanted internet service back. They seem to not care, they dont have to, they are the only game on the block.

customer service/ support

service is BAD , they had me waiting 5 hours for a tech to show up and fix the tv connection and the rg, but never showed up ! they called 4 times to make sure someone would be home but nobody callled to let me know they would not show up, their shortest appointment window is 3 to 5 hrs waiting, but if for some reason to have to step out wnd they show up there is no waiting on their part
