AT&T gave me 12mbps "max" speed tier promotion for $24.95/mo guaranteed for one year, locked into a one year contract, because I'm an AT&T wireless subscriber.
(I do not have landline or uverse tv though my location now supports both digital voice and uverse tv through AT&T.)
Much cheaper than San Bruno cable's 16mbps for $41.95/mo.
Received a 2wire HGV 3600 modem for $99. Free after rebate. Free self installation was quick and painless. A field tech entered my house to verify the NID and all was done.
Turns out my drop has a max attainable rate of 51mbps so I think I can upgrade to any higher speed any time without problems! . Current getting 11.5/1.5 on last speedtest. Not bad at all!
