Value for money:
(ratings match consensus)
(Note: The $43 price quoted is the Internet portion of the bill. I also have the U450/HD TV package but did not opt for the VOIP phones = $123 total with tax)
I had Roadrunner cable for 7 years. It was fine for all but the last year, when it would slow down to a crawl as other users jumped online. And Roadrunner was expensive! Over $55/month with no speed reliability and lots of dropped connections.
Then I switched to Uverse 24Mbps service. Awesome stability, good download (23Mbps actual with 2.82 Mbps up) very solid and priced right at $43/month.
And I am even able to use my own hi performance wifi router by disabling the radio in their unit.
The only issue I have found is occasionally long hold times with their customer service/tech support..
No dropped connections or erratic speeds in 3 weeks. And, unlike Roadrunner (Roadcrawler?) if I do ever get a loss of Internet I have free dialup with AT&T to access my email, etc. Important for me.
Below is a link to a graph of Roadrunner from approximately August 2011 through 12/11/11 and AT&T Uverse begins on 12/12/11. It should be obvious why I am glad to rid of Roadrunner cable's POS service. Avg RR speeds about 8Mbps taking into account the drastic congestion in the evenings. Sometimes I couldn't even stream Netflix! Avg RR upload 1.5mbps.

Update: I hadn't mentioned the TV portion of Uverse but I noticed other reviews here that mention poor TV quality. I am surprised at this as I am impressed with the improvement in TV quality of Uverse over RR cable. No pixelation, sharp, good color.
No outages in approximately 9 months of service, only a couple of slow downs which didn't last more than an hour on 2 or 3 occasions. What a sharp contrast to Roadrunny. I am so glad to be rid of those lying jerks and their pathetic Internet service.
