I wanted to stay with AT&T since I had had their DSL since 2004. The plain DSL service had gotten up to $40/ month with only 1.2 Mb download speed. In seven years had only had two minor problems with DSL service. In 11 months of Uverse, the modem restarts itself almost once/week, I get diagnostics error about once per month, and the service has stopped working three times. In all three cases the service inexplicably resumed after a couple hours.
